RARE Fred Press Vintage Mid Century Bust Sculpture, Goddess Circe as Child Youth

RARE vintage Mid-century bust sculpture of the Greek Sorcerer Goddess Circe in her youth. The sculptor is the multi award-winning Fred Press (1919 - 2012) and this stunning piece is part of a series of busts imaging "Sculptures of Myths and The Zodiac". This piece gives us a young teen girl, wide eyes with lips and hair parted, chin up, and looking forward confidently. Her neck is elongated and sits on a classically shaped base which it joins to become part of the sculpture. It is signed on the left lower rim of the base - "FRED PRESS ©️".

This piece is fully intact with no major damage. There is a small hole on the bottom left side of her neck, but this is the result of the casting process. The piece has some chipping and surface cracking to the white plaster coating. Please see pictures for examples.

It measures approximately 8.75"H x 4"W x 4"D. The base is about 3.5" in diameter.
