On September 22nd, 1995, Santa Fe and Burlington Northern merged to become the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway. The company’s name was later shortened to BNSF Railway.

To celebrate their 25th Anniversary, BNSF added the heralds of eight (8) predecessor railroads to 10 ES44AC locomotives. ScaleTrains.com is excited to partner with BNSF and be the only HO manufacturer to offer these commemorative locomotives. In keeping with the Rivet Counter series tradition of road number specific details, nine (9) of the 10 ES44s have unique features that make them different from each other.
