Traveling Man treasures is selling this handcrafted Abelam inspired "Yam" helmet mask from Papua New Guinea. While this is a non-traditionally designed mask, there are many design elements present that appear on other customary Abelam artwork. Particularly salient are the “sapsap” decoration on the forehead and the stylistic representation of the headdress, as well as the plant based paints.

This particular design has less common squarish and chiseled features, but these only add to the helmet mask's uniqueness.
