Kokopelli Palomino Pyrite in Quartz Sphere Necklace on an 19″ 925 Silver Chain

This rare vintage pendant beautifully combines the cultural significance of Kokopelli with the natural beauty of the pyrite-included quartz and the appeal of sterling silver that’s Southwestern-inspired jewelry. The sphere within the Kokopelli figure is a quartz sphere with natural pyrite inclusions, creating a unique visual effect. Pyrite, a metallic mineral often called “fool’s gold” due to its similar appearance to gold, creates a striking contrast when found within clear quartz.
Kokopelli, a humpbacked flute player and fertility deity revered by Native American cultures in the Southwestern United States, is associated with both agriculture and childbirth. I had difficulty finding the maker’s mark and had to use a microscope that showed “Ster” (Sterling silver) The artist’s name was on the back, but I couldn’t made it out. The 19” box chain is marked 925 CW and not originally to the pendant.
